One question often asked by businesses is how long do Google My Business posts last? The answer is that posts typically last for seven days, after which they are no longer visible on the GMB listing. However, there are some exceptions to this rule.

Firstly, COVID-19 has affected GMB’s functionality, causing some changes to the platform’s features. As a result, some posts may remain visible beyond the seven-day limit if the content relates to COVID-19. However, it is essential to note that not all posts related to COVID-19 are eligible to remain visible beyond the seven days. Posts that are more recent and have greater engagement are more likely to remain visible.

Secondly, posts that are “event” or “offer” posts may have a longer life span than regular posts. Event posts will stay visible for up to two weeks after the event date, while offer posts will stay visible for up to two weeks or until the offer expires. Therefore, businesses that use these types of posts may benefit from more extended visibility and engagement with customers.

If you accidentally delete a post or want to reinstate a post, you have up to seven days from the day you posted it to return it to your GMB listing. After seven days, the only option is to recreate the post from scratch. In summary, Google My Business posts typically last for seven days, with the exception of COVID-19 and event/offers posts, which may have more extended visibility. If you need to reinstate a post, you have up to seven days to do so.
