How Old Is Google Analytics

How To Go Back To Old Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service that tracks and reports website traffic, providing insights and statistics about users’ behavior, demographics, and interests. The service was launched on November 14, 2005, and has since become the world’s most popular website analytics tool. Therefore, as of 2021, Google Analytics is 15 years old.

To access the old version of Google Analytics, you can follow the below steps. Firstly, log in to your Google Analytics account and navigate to the Admin section. Under the Property column, click on “Tracking Info” and select “Tracking Code.” From the available options, choose “Legacy Tracking Code.” That’s it; you will now have access to the old version of Google Analytics.

However, it is important to note that Google is transitioning from the old version of Analytics to a new version called Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This new version provides more granular data tracking and analysis, making it easier to understand user behavior and make informed decisions. To switch to the new GA4, users can create a new GA4 property and start tracking data from the new version while still retaining access to the old version.

In conclusion, Google Analytics has been around for 15 years, and accessing the old version is easy by selecting the “Legacy Tracking Code” option in the “Tracking Info” section of the Admin dashboard. However, it is worth considering transitioning to the new GA4 version, as it provides more insights into user behavior and helps businesses make more informed decisions.
