How To Reset Google Analytics

How to Reset Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a powerful tool that provides businesses with valuable insights into their website traffic and user behavior. However, sometimes it’s necessary to reset Google Analytics in order to start fresh with new data or to fix issues with your tracking setup. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to reset your Google Analytics account.

Resetting Google Analytics Account

First, log in to the Google Analytics account you want to reset. Then, click on the Admin button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. From here, you’ll see three columns: Account, Property, and View. Click on the dropdown menu in the Account column and select Create new account.

Next, you’ll need to fill out the information for your new account. This includes your website name, website URL, and time zone. After you’ve entered everything, click on the Get Tracking ID button. This will generate a new tracking ID for your website.

Clearing Google Analytics Data

In addition to creating a new account, you may also want to clear any existing data in your Google Analytics account. This can be helpful if you want to start tracking your website from scratch or if you’re experiencing issues with your current tracking setup.

To clear your Google Analytics data, go to the Admin section of your account and click on the Property column. From there, click on Tracking Info and then Data Collection. Here, you’ll find an option to Delete all data in the property. Click on this button to clear all data from your account.

In conclusion, resetting Google Analytics can be a helpful way to start fresh with new data or to fix tracking issues on your website. By following these steps, you can create a new account and clear any existing data in your Google Analytics account. With a clean slate, you can gain valuable insights into your website traffic and make data-driven decisions for your business.
